Restorative Care

After preventative care has been provided, restorative care can begin if needed. Restorative care can include fillings, removal of decay on permanent teeth, restoring broken teeth, and extractions.

When it comes to restorative care, we follow the steps outlined below, taking care to assess the needs of each individual.

  • An examination is performed on each potential patient. As each patient is examined, a determination must be made as to which teeth can be “saved” and which teeth are non-restorable. Priority is given to saving permanent teeth.

  • Primary (milk/baby) teeth that are loose and decayed will be left for the child to remove. If these teeth are abscessed/infected, they will be extracted. Parents need to be aware that it is okay to remove loose and abscessed primary teeth.

  • Parental permission is required to provide dental treatment.

  • Fractured front permanent teeth will be restored. Repairing fractured front teeth can truly improve the confidence of a child.

  • Local anesthetic is always provided for extractions and restorations, and Dental Standard of Care Principles are always maintained.

  • Our makeshift waiting room.

  • Mobile equipment setup for restorations.
