  • Otis Wade

    BOARD MEMBER

Otis Wade was born in Grenada, in the fishing village of Gouyave. Otis migrated to the US at the age of 12 to live with his mother in Brooklyn, New York. While in college, Otis enlisted in the US Air Force and relocated to Texas, where he met his wonderful wife, Amy. After 21 years of military life, Otis was honorably discharged from the US Air Force. Otis built a successful career in IT and was the Director of Information Management Services for Three Rivers Casino for 10 years. Otis never forgot his Grenadian heritage, returning to Grenada several times with his wife and three girls, to ensure they developed a love for the food, culture, and his fellow Grenadians. In 2014, Otis and Amy made the decision to fulfill Otis’ dream of returning home to Grenada and giving back to the island that held his heart. In order to be “all in”, they sold their house and most of their belongings, so they wouldn’t have any excuse to give up when things got tough. Within a few months of returning home, Otis and Amy created the Heritage Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to organizing volunteers and implementing community service throughout Grenada. Heritage Foundation helps volunteers share their skills and services with schools and communities, thereby improving quality of life, encouraging education, teaching self-reliance and the importance of helping one another. Otis is also a member of the Rotary Club of Grenada, where he has served as a member of the board of directors for three plus years.

  • Mike Holmes

    TREASURER

According to the Bible, a guy by the name of Methuselah lived to be 969 years old, oldest person ever recorded. To live that long, proper dental hygiene had to be part of his daily regimen! Can you imagine all the things you could do with 969 years? When it comes to life’s journey, I tell people that I follow “The Methuselah Plan”, and they give me a puzzled look. Statistically, they know I have no probability of living to 969. So I explain to them that I intend to accomplish as many life experiences in my short life span, as Methuselah got out of his. I figure I need to brush my teeth 29 times a day to keep up!

Mike currently lives in St. George, Utah, where he and wife, Lisa, love the many outdoor opportunities in the area. But even more fulfilling, are visits from children and grandchildren. Throughout my 35-year career with multi-national corporations we’ve had the opportunity to live and travel throughout the U.S. Currently, I’m the Controller and Contract Administrator at 5N Plus Semiconductors.

A humanitarian trip to Ecuador is where Tammy first knew that this type of service was going to be a major part of her life. Tammy uses her organizational skills to help keep Spice Isle Smiles running smoothly - especially during the days working at elementary schools in Grenada. Tammy mentioned, "The best part about these trips is making connections with the children. The hugs and trust from them let us know we are doing something good! It is such a privilege to serve these children.”

    BOARD MEMBER

Roger is the father of 6 children, 2 sons and 4 daughters. In 2019-2020 his family moved from the comforts of their Idaho home and traveled to Grenada where they lived for 8 months. While in Grenada, they had many spectacular experiences, most of which included the youth of this beautiful island. Their service opportunities were highlighted when some dear friends introduced them to Brian and Tammy Holmes and they had the opportunity to work with them on a few occasions with their dental program on the island. Since 2020 the Morgans have returned back to their Idaho home and continued their day to day lives, but they definitely left a portion of their hearts and “smiles” with the wonderful people of Grenada (their Island Home).
