Why donate to Spice Isle Smiles?

Thank you for considering a donation to Spice Isle Smiles. Our work may seem small in a global perspective, but for the kids we see, it will make a lifetime of difference in their confidence and systemic health.

Currently we are raising funds to purchase a portable dental chair, a portable dental delivery system, and dental hand instruments that will remain at the Florida Government School outside of Guoyave. This will be the 4th school our dental program will serve. The estimated cost of this equipment is $6475 US. Local dentists who have worked with us will be able to treat the school children here throughout the year if this equipment is available for them.

Where does your donation go?

  • Dental Equipment

    Due to the nature of our work, we are in need of portable equipment to bring with us to schools. Currently, a handheld x-ray unit would be especially helpful..

  • Community Projects

    Our current focus is on raising funds to provide the maternity ward at the General Hospital of Grenada with cribs and comfortable chairs for new mothers.

  • Educational Tools

    We offer computer programming workshops for young adults at Newlo Vocational School. We would like to expand this project to other local schools.

  • Dental Supplies

    While we do receive some supply donations, we are always in need of supply replenishment (flouride, sealant material, etc.) after each trip.

Our Current Goal:

Raise Funds to Purchase New Mother Chairs and Cribs for St. Georges General Hospital, Grenada

In the nursery at St. Georges Hospital, there are no proper, medical grade, recovery chairs for new mothers. Additionally, the cribs/new baby/toddler beds are covered with lead paint. It is proposed that Spice Isle Smiles raise the funds to purchase, ship, and assemble 4-6 new mother chairs, 4-6 toddler beds, and 4-6 baby bassinets.
