Our Vision:
The primary focus of Spice Isle Smiles is the improvement and protection of the oral health of children throughout Grenada. This 501(c)3 nonprofit organization will, without limitation, partner with local schools, local community organizations, local dental professionals, and visiting dental team volunteers who can provide preventive and interceptive dental care to K-6 grade students in rural areas of Grenada. Visiting dental teams will arrange and coordinate humanitarian missions with, and be accountable to, the Grenadian Ministry of Health and other officials whose mandate is to oversee the healthcare of Grenada.
Spice Isle Smiles will also partner with other Grenadian organizations to identify, financially support, and see to completion projects that will positively impact the lives of Grenadians.
These community initiatives will focus on oral health, dental education, clean water and sanitation, technology education and career opportunity, literacy, and environmental conservation.
Continuing dental education for all dental personnel will be provided at the start of each humanitarian mission. Encouragement and support will be given to the Dental Director of Grenada to provide island wide continuing education to all dental professionals.
Dental professional involvement at the local level is critical to our success. Dental supplies and equipment will be donated to areas in need. We will strive to foster positive, professional friendships to create a long term, sustainable outcome that will benefit families and individuals for generations."
